Conference Venue
The venue of the POF2026 will be the Ohm Innovation Center (OIC), a modern facility for research and events of the Technische Hochschule Nürnberg Georg Simon Ohm, a University of Applied Sciences named after one of its founding fathers. It is located closely to the historic city center of Nuremberg.
Nuremberg is a city full of cultural heritage and German history, topped by the iconic Imperial Castle from medieval times. Nuremberg is located in the southern part of Germany, in the State of Bavaria.
Travelling: Nuremberg has a regional airport named after the painter Albrecht Dürer with connecting flights or bus shuttles to major international airports like Munich, Frankfurt, Paris or Amsterdam. It is conveniently conected to the Nuremberg city center by subway ("U-Bahn) line U2 from "Flughafen" station. A single trip from the airport to Nuremberg Central Station by U2 takes 20 min. The large Nuremberg Center Station is another excellent option to go to Nuremberg by train, or to visit nearby cities like Munich.
End of September is a time of the year with a pleasant climate in Nuremberg, with often warm and sunny days announcing the so-called "Golden October", and occasional some rain. Average day time temperature is from 15°C to 20°C, and 10°C to 5°C in the night. As a side note, during this time of the year, the world famous Munich Oktoberfest is only 90 min away by train and public transportation.
Weather update: The forecasts are fine for the POF2026: We expect sunny 20°C to 25° at day time and 15°C to 10°C during evening and night for Tuesday and Wednesday, maybe a little bit fresher on Thursday with a small risk of some raindrops in the afternoon and evening.
Directions to the Ohm Innovation Center conference venue:
The Ohm Innovation Center is located at Brucknerstraße 11, 90429 Nürnberg. It is the building labled "FO" at the F campus of the Ohm University. The campus is also called "Auf AEG", after the former German industry giant AEG.
Public transportation: We recommend traveling to the OIC by public transport. The nearest stop is Eberhardshof (Subway "U-Bahn" line U1), which is only a few minutes walking distance away from the OIC building. A single trip from Central Station ("Hauptbahnhof") to Eberhardshof takes 10 min. During day times, trains on the line U1 run every 5 to 10 min. If required at all, timetables are available at the public transportation operator VGN www.vgn.de/en/, and a symbolic subway map can be found here.

Directions: From Nuremberg city center region, for example Central Station ("Hauptbahnhof"), to the OIC venue ("Eberhardshof" station), take U1 with destination "Fürth Hardhöhe" or "Eberhardshof". This would also be the direction to go from the OIC venue to the city of Fürth, if you would stay there.
From the OIC venue ("Eberhardshof" station) to the Nuremberg city center region, take U1 with destination "Langwasser Süd". This would also be the direction to go from the city of Fürth, if you would stay there, to the OIC venue ("Eberhardshof" station).
Tickets: The tickets and fares of the public transportation operator VGN are not in favour of occasional trips for visitors. The red ticket vending machines ("Fahrkarten") can be found on every station, and in the main level of Nuremberg Central Station. For a single trip, please select the English menu, and enter starting point and destination (e.g. Eberhardshof for OIC venue). Then select a Single ticket for one trip. Alternatively, we recommend to buy an All day ticket solo at price level A, for hassle-free travelling for one day in the city region Nuremberg - Fürth - Stein.
